44 dead this morning. Not fast I know but consistent. Getting closer to the first of Feb and my self imposed bike abstinence will be ended. In readiness for the reuniting of buttock and saddle I thought I would give the machine a bit of a once over, I have changed the brake cables, ordered some gear cables and cleaned last years muck off the frame, in doing so I have discovered that the bottom bracket has seized making it quite difficult to turn the peddles, I have therefore ordered a new one of those as well. This in itself is not a major problem, or indeed expense, get the old bracket off the frame is proving be a pain, a very big spanner – no, WD40 – No a big hammer – No so off to the DT dept. . . . .
