I surprised myself this morning, had to drag myself out of bed – always the same after a parents evening – was not really in the mood, but I guess there will be mornings during the actual ride when I’ll get up and not really be in the mood. So I had the early morning coffee (I don’t really function without it) and left the house at about 5:50. I was not really thinking about where I was going, how I was going to wend my way to work, of in fact how hard or easy my legs were working. The first 5 miles flew by at an average of 20 mph (well pleased) By the time I’d got to work 22 miles covered at an average of 17.5. I am starting to think that I might be better off starting my ride days at 6am rather than the 8am I had planned to do, less traffic – not quite awake, time passes quite effortlessly.
Got to work to be presented with the local paper – featuring ME. Odd really. Hope it works, hope the publicity generates a little more sponsorship for me and a little more public interest in the Future Perfect event.
Another parents evening tonight. Tomorrow morning will be interesting.
