Firstly what an ace weekend - I recommend Haworth and the surrounding country side. Me and the boy had a great time, the entire weekend made up of just three activities - walking, eating and sleeping. Walked about 33 miles, ate our body weigh in various forms of food, curry, cooked breakfasts and battenburg being the most notable.
Anyway back to the bike. Got back on the bike this morning, not really inspired to ride as the clocks have gone back 5am yet again looks and feels like the middle of the night. Saying that I had only gone about a quarter of a mile before I was happily aware that my legs felt really good, they were spinning almost without me asking them to. Despite the very cold conditions and the rather heavy fog that hung over Stockport and Macclesfield the whole ride felt really good, got the 45 miles I wanted at just over 16 mph, with is 6hr for 100 pace which will do me just fine. Legs still feel good; I have an hour or so to kill tonight so I am planning on getting in another 15 or hopefully 20. I am going to try and get 60 miles each day throughout the week and a bit more at the weekend - only time will see if I can fit it in.
