Two weeks and counting! Had a short but hard ride this morning, Jonesy joined me for a 45 mile trudge around a very wet and windy corner of the Peak District. The ride took in a few small climbs but also included Holm Moss and the climb out of Holmfirth on the ‘Isle of Sky Road’ Total climb was around 1500meters which is not all that impressive but it was the weather that made it tough. The wind was strong and all over the place. Strong head wind changed to very strong side wind shifting gusting head wind and at one point the wind changed instantly from a strong side wind from the right to an equally strong side wind from the left – (how does that work then?) – still it was a trip out and after last weeks 166 mile epic 45 miles felt like nothing. The other good thing is that I am pretty sure that I will not get conditions any worse than I had today.
